I currently live in historic Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, NYC with my husband Michael and our son. I spend my days enjoying being a wife, mom and artist.
I graduated Pratt Institute, Brooklyn NYC with a BFA in Communications Design and I have had the opportunity to work in the professional art field as both a graphic designer and an illustrator for some incredible companies including: Field & Stream Magazine, The Marvel Entertainment Group, Henry Holt and Company, Russ Berrie and Company, The Blank Page of NYC, The NYC Board of Education, Spider the Magazine for Children, and Ladybug just to name a few.
I have also had the pleasure of illustrating a couple of children's book with Henry Holt and Company including: "Equinox" and "The Friendship of Milly and Tug." the later having received several honors and awards including: the Muse Medallion Award for Excellence, the Los Angeles Times Recommended Book honor, the New York Public Library's "100 Titles for Reading" honor, the Children's Literature Choice Book in 2000 honor, and it was nominated as a Junior Library Guild Selection.
I have contributed many how to and new pastel theory articles to various online and print publications including the yearly RESS Technical Booklet. In 2001 I became a regular editorial contributor for Just About Horses magazine and soon after won an annual award given by the American Horse Publications for my three part series on painting hooves entitled: "Hoofin It'. This was my first editorial award as well as JAH's. We were up against some big equine names such as Horse Illustrated and Western Horseman!
My fascination with the model equine began in 1979 but continues strongly today with the release of my first limited edition sculpture "Opus." I look forward to sharing my ever expanding equine vision to other enthusiasts for many years to come. ~Jenn
