| Superman: Anti- Kryptonite suit: I've wanted to make this guy for a long time, but could never figure out a way to make an accurate helmet. When Mattel began showing preview photos for their Attack Armor Superman I thought the helmet included would solve my problem. Unfortunately, under closer inspection the helmet was pretty inaccurate so I decided to try to build one out of styrene. Casimir (the man, the myth) was kind enough to send me some blue acetate for the visor which really put the finishing touch on him. The gauntlets and the boots are a mix of epoxy putty and sheet styrene. I carved the lines into the legs and around the forearms using a sharpened sculpting tool. The breather on the mask is cut from a Star Wars accessory. All in all I'm really happy with the outcome of this figure. The Kryptonite suit is widely featured on the show and certainly deserves a custom nod. |
