PARASITE

Parasite: Once again Bruce Timm and Co. have taken a completely lame-o DC villain and made him cool as heck (I love these animated shows!)! The Parasite has been on my list since I started customizing DC animated, but I've been putting him off because I couldn't find a head that I thought would suit him. After sculpting my first head from scratch with Draaga I thought it was time to give this guy a shot. I'm very happy with the outcome. His head is made from Sculpey and epoxy putty and his costume detail is epoxy putty and styrene (on the gauntlets). I've been putting off using the Mattel Batman two pack figures as bases because they are so much taller than the JL figures, but I finally broke down and gave it a shot. I really like the results despite the fact that he's almost a full head taller than the JL Superman. I got rid of the head and Dremmeled off all of Bats' detail, then filled and rounded the detail between the rib cage and the lats to make it one (more accurate) mass. I also beefed up his arms a bit mostly around the deltoid and forearm areas- Bats is a little lacking in the arm department. I think this body is a more accurate rendition of the Timm style than the more angular JL figures that are based on the maquettes, but I still can't decide which I like better as a base- I love them both!
